Personal Information Processing Policy

  • Consumer Insight, (hereafter the "Company") will give its best effort to protect privacy and personal information. In order to actively protect personal information and effectively comply with all the relevant laws & regulations such as 'Act on Information Communication Network Use Promotion and Information Protection,’ the Company has established [Personal Information Treatment (Processing) Policy] and is currently obliged to flow as such.
  • Personal information Processing Policy can be changed in accordance with the modification of the relevant legislation and guidelines and internal corporate management policy change. When [Personal Information Treatment (Processing) Policy] needs to be changed, the changes will be posted on this site. If you have any questions on the modifications, you can ask the representative at any time or you can check by visiting this site.

  • Personal Information Collected Items
    "Company" collects "Member’s" personal information for identification, service usage, consulting - "Research" related tasks.
  • ο Items Collected: name, email, password, cell phone number
    ο Collection Method: Member registration via website
  • Viewing, Editing, Withdrawing Personal Information
    "Member" can view or edit their personal information at anytime through the website, and the agreement on providing personal information can be cancelled, and the respective information can be requested to be deleted.
  • Collecting and Purpose of Personal Information
    "Company" uses collected personal information for the following purposes:

    ο Identification, anti-fraud prevention and unauthorized use, handling of complaints, giving notices etc.
    ο Executing "Research" tasks and related compensations (sweepstakes), sending sweepstake prizes
    ο Executing other tasks and statistical analysis 

    Personal Information Holding and Using Period
    In principle, personal information is automatically deleted immediately after its collecting purpose is fulfilled. However, when personal information must be kept longer due to policies regarding e-commerce or consumer protection, then the information holding period is extend further for a certain period of time.
    In this case, personal information is only kept longer for the respective reason only, and the extend preserving period is as shown below:

    ο Identification and "Research" background check
    · Preserved Item: name, email, password, phone number, information on "Research" career background, compensation record
    · Evidence : Prevention of re-applying within a certain amount of time, encourage telecommunications, and laws regarding information protection
    · Preserving Period: 6 months 

    Personal Information Deleting Process and Method
    "Company" automatically deletes personal information immediately after its collecting purpose is fulfilled. The deleting process and the method follows as such:

    ο Deleting Process
    - After the collecting purpose is fulfilled, the personal information provided by the "Member" is transferred to a separate DB, and after being preserved for a certain period of time, it is then deleted according to our internal policy and other related legislations on protecting information (note preserving and usage period).
    - The information transferred to a separate DB is not used for objectives other than as stated unless it is for law-related purposes.

    ο Deleting Method
    - For personal information saved in electronic file format, special technological measures are used when deleting data so that personal information can’t be revived.

    Providing Personal Information
    "Company" doesn’t give "Member’s" personal information as part of our policy. However, for cases listed below, "Member’s" information may be released to the 3rd party within the lawful range.

    - When requested by the government or for investigation purposes, or related legalities
    - When "Member" violates this agreement or other related legislation, thereby causing the need for Information Protection procedures
    - When "Member" have agreed in advance to other conditions specific to people/institutions that may request information

    Entrusting of Personal Data Collected
    In order to improve the "Company’s" service, it consigns collected personal information to external parties after receiving consent from "Members" in prior. When personal information is entrusted (selective personal handling consignment), to an external party to take care of "Company’s" affairs, respective notice on the consignee and the work scope is given in advance. Currently, the work scope of personal information consignee is as follows:
    Mail Link - sending mass emails
    Culture Land - sending gift cards

    The Rights of "Member" and Legal Representatives and its Practice
    "Member" and legal representative can view, edit, delete personal information at anytime through the company website. In addition, when Personal Information Manager is contacted in writing, phone, or email, it will be taken care of without delay.

    When the personal information gets deleted due to the "Member’s" or legal representative’s request, the "Company" needs to follow policies stated in "Personal Information Holding and Using Period", and usages other than this purpose is also prevented.

    Installation and Operation of Automatic Personal Information Collection, and Issues Relating to Refusals
    ο As one of the services used by the "Company", cookie-in function is used (by utilizing cookie) for the convenience of the user so that it logs-in automatically.
    "Cookie," a minute text file that is sent to the webserver of the user’s computer, may be saved on hard drive/memory.
    The user has the right to choose whether to save the cookie information. However, when the user refuses to use the cookie service, general services offered may not function as well.

    ο At times, IP address is collected for smooth system management.

    - Ways to specify whether to permit using cookie saving service is as follows:
    (When using Internet Explorer) ① go to [Tools] menu and select [Internet option]. ② Click on [Personal Information] tab. ③ Use the scroll to set [Personal Information Settings].

    "Company" protects "Member’s" personal information and settles complaints regarding personal information, and in order to do so, a specific department and manager have been designated to oversee these tasks as shown below:
